Í tengslum við afhendingu fyrstu rafjeppanna frá AMP Electric Vehicles veitti John R. Kasich ríkisstjóri Ohio, Northern Lihgts Energy og AMP Electric Vehicles einstaka viðurkenningu. Með þessari viðurkenningu er ríkisstjórinn að þakka fyrir hönd Ohio ríkis og allra borgara ríkisins, fyrirtækjunum þeirra framlag. Slík viðurkenning er stundum gefin í Bandaríkjunum til samfélagslega ábyrgra aðila, þeirra er skara framúr og leggja mikilvægt að mörkum til samfélagsins.
Aðstandendur NLE eru mjög stoltir af því að hafa fengið slíka viðurkenningu og líta á hana sem hvatningu til góðra verka. Skilningurinn á mikilvægi þess að koma á orkuskiptum í samgöngum er til staðar hjá ríkisstjóra Ohio og framleiðsla AMP á rafbílum er einn liður í að koma því á.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, AMP Holding Inc., a company located in Blue Ash, Ohio, engaged in the emission-free electrification of OEM vehicles through its wholly owned subsidiary, signed a definitive agreement with the Icelandic company Northern Lights Energy to develop a fleet of electric cars; and
WHEREAS, AMP was founded in 2007 by entrepreneurs who have created several hi-tech companies and currently, the AMP team is comprised of top automotive industry veterans and business executives, as well as two key pioneers of GM’s EV1 project; and
WHEREAS, AMP’s first all-electric demonstration models were the Saturn Sky and the Chevrolet Equinox and since its inception, AMP’s unique electrification technology has proven to be an idea that has generated an extreme amount of interest, with inquiries coming from around the world; and
WHEREAS, AMP’s intent is to electrify a range of OEM SUVs, and AMP expects its vehicle electrification technology will prove new solutions to America’s energy demands; and
WHEREAS, Northern Lights Energy based in Reykjavik, Iceland, is a company that operates in the energy and transportation sectors and is a leading electric vehicle service provider, offering a full range of services in various integrated mobility packages to enable rapid and widespread adoption of electric vehicles; and
WHEREAS, Northern Lights Energy has initiated the Icelandic National EV Project involving a national consortium, various key stakeholders including municipalities and many of Iceland’s largest and most influential companies; and
WHEREAS, Northern Lights Energy aims to build a nationwide charging infrastructure in Iceland to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles and further utilize Iceland’s abundant renewable energy; and
WHEREAS, this project specifically was to convert 1,000 cars into totally electric vehicles and the cars being converted will be a combination of the Chevy Equinox and Mercedes ML350 with AMP handing over the keys to the first of the 1,000 cars on Wednesday, May 11, 2011.
NOW THEEFORE, I, John R. Kasich, Governor of the State of Ohio, do hereby recognize

NORTHERN LIGHTS ENERGY
and I join all Ohioans in expressing my sincere appreciation for the commitment that AMP and Northern Lights Energy have shown to this project and to the state of Ohio.
